Organic Codonopsis Root (Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf.) Clinical Application
1. For cases with weakness, fatigue, anorexia, abdominal distention and loose stools due to insufficiency of middle-jiao qi and disturbance of digestive function, it is used together with Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephlae.
2. For deficiency of lung-qi marked by cough, shortness of breath and low voice, it is used together with Radix Astragali and Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, ect.
3. For cases with thirst and shortness of breath due to insufficiency of production of fluid resulting from weakness and deficiency of spleen and stomach.
4. For blood-deficiency syndrome marked by sallow complexion, palpitation and dizziness, it is used together with Radix Angelicae Sinensis and Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, ect.
5. For cases with weak constitution affected by exogenous wind-cold marked by fever, aversion to cold, headache, stuffy nose, and productive cough, it is used together with Folium Perillae, Radix Peucedani.
